There are few things more exhilarating to an AR facilitator than leading a room full of people in the art and practice of relating authentically while staying loyal and connected to their own heart.
It can be terrifying. They rarely know what's about to happen. But when they can stay present and instead of clench down, open up to the unknown, magic arises in the form of nourishing, healing connections.
I have the great pleasure of assisting Jessica Tartaro and Zachary Robison in an Authentic Relating Transformational Games Training in Port Townsend, WA.

Read on below for much of the information.
If you're curious to know more about Authentic Relating: AR is about what is real and now. It's about what you are feeling and experiencing in your bodily felt sense. It's about your actual thoughts and emotions in the moment, whether they be scared, joyful, sad, etc. It's about the nature of connectedness when you look into the eyes of another being. Authentic Relating is a growing movement with communities around the globe gathering to connect and enrich our human experience. The two most common AR activities are Transformational Games & Circling. (https://www.authrev.com/worldwide-connection & http://www.circlinginstitute.com/circling/what-is-circling/)
In this training, on May 3-5, you'll learn how to lead Authentic Relating Games.
This event is for people who have attended at least 3 Authentic Relating Games events and want to take their relational practice to the next level.
This training is also for you if:
- Leadership is an "edge" for you and you want to lean towards that edge in the service of your growth
- You believe that leadership is less about being in control and more about "going first" to show others the way
- You have received benefit from Circling or Authentic Relating and want to share what you have discovered with others by leading AR games
- You believe that Vulnerability is not a dirty word
- You have tried relating and leading from the values of perfectionism and competition and you are ready for a change
- You find joy in opening up in safe public spaces and in supporting others to do the same
- You have a grasp on leading from your vulnerable self but need some concrete tools and steps to plant your feet as an Authentic Relating facilitator
If you said "yes" to any of this, I hope you will join us. We are inviting players from the Port Townsend, Seattle and Portland Authentic Relating & Circling communities to participate as well as friends from neighboring PNW towns. This promises to be a powerful collaboration.
Enrollment will be capped at 18 participants.
What you will get at this training:
- An introduction to the principles of Authentic Relating
- Step by step tools for how to draw from your inner experience in order to breathe life into an AR game
- Practice leading games in small groups
- Supportive, individualized feedback on your facilitation
- An opportunity to watch and learn from others leading games
- A "behind the scenes" look at the process for two seasoned facilitators
- Take home resources for building your AR facilitation practice

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Dr. Jessica Tartaro is an Intimacy Therapist & Connection Facilitator with nearly 20 years experience working with individuals, couples and groups. Former Fulbright scholar, she has traveled the world conducting research on growth through trauma as well as studying with leaders in the authentic relating and circling movements. Her gift lies in embodying vulnerability as an invitation for you to find the most authentic, alive, vital and creative parts of yourself through which to connect with others. www.DrJessicaTartaro.com.
Zachary Robison is a lead facilitator and facilitator trainer who enjoys creating a space of self-exploration that primarily focuses on cultivating interpersonal skills. He has a laid back, playful leadership style balanced by a desire to hold space for whatever depth arises. In leading games in many different areas of life such as schools, businesses, festivals, summer camps, and leadership workshops, Zach has learned how to embrace what is real in any moment and have that be where we connect. He is a practicing Life Coach in the Houston area, a massage therapist, and a regular facilitator of a weekly Authentic Relating Games night every Sunday evenings.
