The Keizer Police Department is excited to present the first annual “5K Foot Pursuit,” a community run/walk event in pursuit of funding and awareness for the Special Olympics Marion County Local Program.
The mission of Special Olympics Oregon is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
The event will take place at Keizer Rapids Park and will include a 5K run/walk as well as a 1K non-competitive walk, followed by community gathering hosted by the Keizer Police Department and the Special Olympics. The gathering will include displays, vendor booths, and activities for all ages.
